Practicing Work That Reconnects

We’re excited to be hosting another workshop series practicing Joanna Macy’s Work That Reconnects. The workshop will be held in the woodlands of Mullet Hall.

4 Tuesdays :: May 26, June 2, 9, 16
6:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Cold Spring, NY

Practicing Work That Reconnects together can help us soften and shift our narratives, calm our nervous systems, and nurture more peace in our hearts. In a time where so many are gripping tightly to fixed beliefs, we’re curious about what unfolds when we slow down, sit with uncertainty, and listen deeply – to ourselves, the Earth, and one another –  making space for what wants to emerge.

The Spring green is in full effect here at Mullet Hall. The gardens, the woodlands and the birds are ready for us to hear them. Last year’s Spring workshop was inspiring! When the Spring rains came we met under the porch with warm light, hot tea, chocolate covered almonds and candied ginger. When the weather permitted we sat around the fire pit among the Sugar Maples, Red Oaks, Pileated woodpeckers, and the White Dragon. We saw Turtles laying eggs and witnessed young Wild Turkey’s wobbling their way to their nighttime roost. Together we remembered how beautiful it is to sit with other curious humans and the more than human world and listen to each other.

Don’t miss the opportunity to be a part of this Spring’s cohort!

This workshop series is for someone who:

  • wants to remember that we are part of a web of interconnection with the more than human world and the other humans around us.
  • wants to meet in person, ignore your phone for two hours, and have a meaningful time outside
  • is feeling overwhelmed and immobilized by the barrage of news coming at us every day
  • looking to fill your cup so you can continue to be an activist, parent, teacher, partner, community member, from a resourced place
  • has done this work in the past and wants to continue to practice. Each cohort offers something new both in content and in the humans that show up
  • has never done something like this before but is curious

This is a practice for facing, rather than fearing, our pain for our world, for cultivating resilience, and for remembering our ecological identity. The suffering of humans and the earth are not separate. This work invites us to tend to ourselves, our hearts and our connections, and to discover what becomes possible when we do.

Work That Reconnects is good medicine and we can’t do it alone!

**The Workshop will take place in Cold Spring, NY, within walking distance (¾ of a mile) from Cold Spring train station (Metro North / Hudson Line) and takes place outside.
