Two New Trees for Arbor Day

It feels like Spring is finally upon us. Cold Spring residents woke up this Arbor Day 2015 to find nice medalions on all of our street trees which proclaimed:

The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second best time is now. Village of Cold Spring Arbor Day, April 25, 2015.

To celebrate the planting of two new street trees, including a Platanus × acerifolia (London plane) in front of C & E Paint, Cold Spring had a wonderfully festive Arbor Day.

Holding an annual Arbor Day ceremony will also help the village qualify for Tree City USA status, a designation that will aid in grant applications to fund village tree work and, of course, future Arbor Day plantings.
